Once logged into your Kraken account, click the username in the top-right corner. Then click‘Security’, and click‘API’. (https://www.kraken.com/u/security/api)
Click‘Add key’ and enter a description in the ‘Key description’ field. It’s suggested to include ‘CryptoTaxReport’ or ‘CTR’ for future reference.
Enable the following permissions:
Query Funds
Query open orders & trades
Query closed orders & trades
Query ledger entries
Export data
With the other options left unchecked, click‘Generate key’.
Enter the 2FA code when prompted and click‘Authorize’.
Copy the API Key and Private Key and paste into notepad for entering in Crypto Tax Report.
Crypto Tax Report steps
After obtaining the API Key and API Secret, log into your Crypto Tax Report account.
Click on ‘Wallets’ in the header bar.
Click‘Add Wallet’.
Click on the ‘Kraken’ option.
Alternatively, use the search bar to find ‘Kraken’. Then click‘Next’.
Click on ‘Auto-sync data’ and then click‘Next’.
In the ‘API Key’ field, enter the API Key from Kraken. In the ‘API Secret’ field, enter the Secret Key from Kraken. Then click‘Next’. Please note: this process may take some time.
